After completing my round the world trip, I decided to host my first travel talk in London, England-there’s nothing quite like jumping in the deep end and renting a theatre in one of the world’s best theatre districts! I may not have sold out that show, but I certainly got a taste for standing on stage and sharing my passion for travel.

Upon returning to Canada I hosted a couple of shows in Vancouver and Victoria. Again, the pressure was there (showing all of my friends and family what I’ve become in 10 years away from home!) but it’s what I wanted to do with all of my heart, so why not? My hard work paid off as the Vancouver shows sold out and the feedback from the audience and the press was fantastic. Even my mom approved!

Following the shows, I decided to focus on completing my book and not pour all of my energy into promotion. I worked part time for Hostelling International touring high schools in the Lower Mainland, talking about the joys of budget travelling. It was a great experience, and from there I have been able to fine tune my own presentations for a variety of audiences. I continue to focus on my book, but talks are hard to turn down! CONTACT ME if you have an audience that needs a little inspiration. A few snippets from the last couple of years…
